Saint Pio of Pietrelcina (Padre Pio)

Capuchin Priest, Stigmatist, Confessor, and Mystic

Saint Pio of Pietrelcina (1887–1968), affectionately known as Padre Pio, was an Italian Capuchin Franciscan priest, mystic, and stigmatist. Living at the friary of San Giovanni Rotondo, Padre Pio received the visible Stigmata of Christ in 1918, which he bore continuously for fifty years. Padre Pio possessed extraordinary spiritual gifts including bilocation, reading of souls in confession, prophetic insight, and miraculous healings. He spent up to sixteen hours a day hearing confessions, bringing countless souls to repentance and conversion. He founded the "Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza" (Home for the Relief of Suffering), a world-class hospital in San Giovanni Rotondo, and exhorted believers: "Pray, hope, and don't worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer."

Saint Raphael the Archangel

Archangel of Healing, Travelers, and Divine Guidance

Saint Raphael the Archangel is one of the seven holy archangels who stand before the throne of God. His name in Hebrew signifies "God heals," revealing his divine mission of healing, guidance, and deliverance. In the Old Testament Book of Tobit, Saint Raphael assumed human form under the name Azarias to guide young Tobias safely on his journey to Media, protect him from evil spirits, facilitate his holy marriage to Sarah, and heal the blindness of Tobit. Saint Raphael is invoked by the faithful as the Patron of Travelers, Pilgrims, Healers, Physicians, and those seeking a holy spouse.

Saint Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa)

Foundress of the Missionaries of Charity and Servant of the Poorest of the Poor

Saint Teresa of Calcutta (1910–1997), known globally as Mother Teresa, was an Albanian-born religious sister and foundress of the Missionaries of Charity. Entering the Sisters of Loreto in Ireland, she taught in Kolkata, India, before receiving a "call within a call" in 1946 to serve Christ in the poorest of the poor. Donning a simple white sari with blue border, Mother Teresa established home for the dying, orphanages, and leper colonies in the slums of Kolkata, extending her order across 130 countries. She witnessed boldly against abortion and secularism, receiving the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. Her life demonstrated that every human person bears the dignity of the image of God, exclaiming: "I see Jesus in every human being. When I wash the leper’s wounds, I feel I am nursing the Lord Himself."
